About

Tara Abrol, LCSW is the founder of BIG Talks Workshops. She is a licensed psychotherapist and integrative sexuality educator. She is also an anti-racist activist committed to dismantling delusional white supremacy.

As a healer Tara understands that what is repressed, denied, and ignored within us is the breeding ground for traumatic experiences. When people receive the tools that enable them to heal, they simultaneously receive access to direct self-empowerment.

When the tipping point of people becomes connected to their full power potential — we will change the world.

My Story

My dad is an Indian immigrant and my mom is an Italian Catholic Brooklynite. The only thing they had in common was refusing to ever talk to me about sex. I became a Sexuality Educator out of necessity.

I started in Sexuality Education and expanded my expertise to include Trauma Therapy. I work with couples, families, groups, and individuals from ages 5 to midlife. I love helping people build their sense of self, and grow their confidence to communicate and create what they want in the world.

Throughout my education, research, and practice, I discovered that the most efficient way to heal is to remove the barriers that keep you from your full intelligence. Once you learn the languages of your mind, body, and emotions you can receive all of the information that already exists within you. Bringing it all together makes it easy.

The industry standard compartmentalizes us. It treats sexuality education as prevention, and therapy as intervention. But Integrative Sexuality Education combines these practices, which sets the stage for big shifts— within ourselves, our families, and our society. The core of the work is the same: empowering people to be in their bodies and be their full selves.
